Part 1

Learning to Love Your Money!

Session 1: Managing cash flow

To ensure more money is coming into the business than going out, we will show you how to create a cash flow statement and, very importantly, predict your cash flow cycle. How well are your customers paying you and do you need help on managing vendors? Join us for strategies and tips on this key to loving your money!

Session 2: Profit and loss statements

P&L statements are different from cash flow statements so let’s make sure you and your accountant are capturing the numbers correctly. You will learn from a B2B and B2C example on cash flow cycles and how they impact the health of your business.

Session 3: Take the mystery out of forecasting sales

Using basic math skills, we will show you how to approach forecasting—whether for a B2B firm or B2C. You will leave with critical tools to create a spreadsheet and keep it updated to find new revenue opportunities to compensate for any gaps in revenue—even in a pandemic!

Session 4: Pricing Strategies to Grow (and Start) Your Business

Let’s talk briefly about the psychology of pricing and how to figure out your sweet spot in costing out products and services. Time-honored studies have yielded practical strategies that you can use to better understand the mind of today’s consumers—like you! A short discussion of supply and demand may just give you more insight into your pricing—whether you’re in B2B or B2C markets.

Part 2

Managing the Accounting Process

Session 2: Your Business Structure, Tax Liabilities, and Savings Options

Learn the basics of tax liabilities and benefits based on your business structure—sole proprietorship, S-Corps, limited liability companies, and partnerships. Do you need to change your structure?

Session 3: How to Become Creditworthy

It is likely that at some point you will want to address a cash flow issue or take advantage of a revenue opportunity but need funding. Learn how to build a strong business profile (for example, buying insurance), repair your personal credit, and assess the pros and cons of online funders, traditional banks, and alternative lenders.
