Founder and Principal Attorney
Teranga Law

Anta Cissé-Green, Esq., is the Founder and Principal Attorney of Teranga Law by Cissé-Green P.C., the first bilingual, cross-border firm explicitly designed to serve the Senegalese diaspora, grassroots nonprofits, and mission-driven organizations. Her practice is rooted in Teranga—the Wolof tradition of hospitality that transforms strangers into family and legal services into lasting relationships.

Born into a Senegalese family and raised in the United States, Anta brings over 20 years of experience bridging cultures and legal systems. A magna cum laude graduate of Brooklyn Law School with an LL.M. in Taxation from NYU School of Law, she has served as General Counsel at SUNY and IEEE, Associate General Counsel at NYU Langone Health, and began her career at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP.

Fluent in English and French, Anta maintains a physical presence in both New York and Senegal, ensuring diaspora families and international nonprofits receive sophisticated legal counsel with authentic cultural understanding. She specializes in estate planning, nonprofit governance, and cross-border philanthropy—bringing institutional-level expertise to communities that deserve excellence but often face barriers to access.

Through Teranga Law, she is training the next generation of culturally competent nonprofit lawyers while building the firm she wishes her relatives had
